Submerged Forest Canoe Tour - Spectacular spring scenery spreading across Lake Shirakawa - Let's go on an adventure! Beginners can feel safe with a guide and receive a photo as a gift!
[March 20 – May 30] This approximately 90-minute canoe tour takes you through the breathtaking submerged forest of Lake Shirakawa. Only for a short period in spring, melting snow raises the water level of the lake, creating a magical submerged forest. Hop into a canoe and venture deep into the forest—areas that cannot be seen from inside the park. As you glide smoothly between the trees, you will experience a sense of harmony with nature and an exciting, memorable adventure. A guide accompanies the tour and provides basic paddling instruction as well as support when getting in and out of the canoe. Even complete beginners and families with children can join safely and enjoy the experience with confidence. ■Optional add-ons If you wish to request any of the following, please select the option in the booking form: ・Canoe preference (single, double, etc.) ・Participation with a dog ■Children Children may participate if they are at least 85 cm tall. If a preschool-aged child is seated in a support seat, a discount of JPY 2,000 will be applied. ■Guests with health concerns If you have a medical condition or feel unsure about participating, please contact us in advance. ■Pricing Prices vary depending on the date, including peak periods such as Golden Week. ■Availability Availability is shown in real time on the booking site. Fully booked time slots will not be displayed. If there are not enough remaining seats for your group, the slot will be shown as unavailable. We do not accept waiting lists. ■Insurance Coverage Information We provide accident insurance coverage in case participants sustain injuries due to unforeseen accidents during the tour. Please assess if you need to purchase additional coverage for your needs. Insurance Provider: Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. (Accident Insurance for Event Participants) - Death or Permanent Disability: 10 million yen - Daily Hospitalization Benefit: 5,000 yen per day - Daily Outpatient Benefit: 3,000 yen per day ■Changes and cancellations The cancellation policy is listed at the bottom of this page. One schedule change is free of charge if made by 5:00 PM, four days before the tour date. Changes after this deadline will be treated as cancellations. ■Booking by bank transfer If online booking by credit card is difficult, reservations by bank transfer are available via the form below: https://forms.gle/2AxqiqoLg8BmMG2eA ■Check-in on the day of the tour Please complete restroom use and changing before arrival, and gather at the site (in front of the Iide Canoe Club hut). Check-in starts 10 minutes before the tour. Please note that this is not Shirakawaso. Traffic congestion may occur during holiday periods, so please allow extra travel time. ■Changing Facilities & Lockers There are no permanent changing rooms or lockers at the site. Please keep your belongings with you at all times. If you need to change clothes on-site, a portable pop-up changing tent is available. Please ask our staff. Clothing recommendations can be found in the plan details at the bottom of this page. ■Access & Navigation Tips When searching for directions from the Yonezawa area, some navigation apps may suggest a mountain pass route. If you are not comfortable driving on narrow mountain roads, we recommend setting your route via Iide Roadside Station Mezami no Sato for a safer and more straightforward drive. ■ Parking Information Please note that a parking fee will be charged from April 18th to May 17th. Parking fees are not included in the tour price.
